Why Choose Al Wurood

Our Campus

New Al Wurood International School was established in 1999 with the objective of imparting quality education to the expatriate community of Jeddah. It is recognized by the Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, (CBSE) New Delhi, India. The school shelters a steadfast team of teaching staff and non-teaching staff who not only caters to the academic needs of the students but also takes care of the overall development of their personality. The school's faculty improvement programme enables teachers to keep themselves updated of the new challenges and developments in educational technology.

Fulfilling the accelerated demands of the society for quality education, New Al Wurood International School has won the acclamation of the public. "Serve Mankind" is the school motto. The school is set on the lines of imparting in students a sound mental, moral and spiritual robustness and discipline of body and mind. Learning spreads beyond the classroom blending the Scholastic and Co-scholastic activities thus enriching the students with an attitude conducive to leadership and to have a better vision to face the big challenges of tomorrow.

Our Curriculum

New Al Wurood International School (NAWIS) offers CBSE curriculum from Grade 1 to Grade 12. The curriculum at NAWIS is based upon strong academic roots. It emphasizes and relies upon what is the best in traditional independent school education: scholarly excellence supported by a caring, pastoral and tutorial system, and a wide -ranging co- curricular programme. We are continually adapting and reacting to the changing demands of modern education: new subjects are added, new teaching techniques adopted, and there is an increasing awareness of the need to provide programmes of study that match individual needs and skills.

XSEED

A flagship programme adopted by our school for Primary Sections and this, no doubt, has created a mechanism which reflects a visible impact in students' learning. It has created an improvement in the grasping of basic concepts, vocabulary and communication skills. At the heart of XSEED is the belief that it's a comprehensive solution and an endeavour to propel children towards excellence by development of a strong foundation in the critical primary years of their life.

Digiclass

Digiclass — is an ICT-based solution adhering to CBSE-Syllabus and is aided with multimedia-based interactive content. It not only empowers teachers to transform traditional blackboard and chalk classrooms into interactive sessions but makes the classroom sessions more interactive, interesting, comprehensive and effective through audio-visual approach. DigiClass involves a massive multimedia resource library for delivery of subjects in a collaborative way in the classroom. This tool is effectively being used by the teachers in the Grades KG-12 to enhance the teaching process with animations, videos and diagrams for the better retention of the tedious and challenging concepts.

Physics, Chemistry & Biology Lab

There are well-equipped laboratories for the young aspiring scientists to prove their scientific skills. The laboratory equipment is often updated. Labs also give students the opportunity to make real scientific contributions through experimenting and learning. They also provide object lessons about the scientific process, the importance of reporting standards and the value of openness.

Robotics

Robotics is a multi-disciplinary tool that is being increasingly used worldwide to motivate, excite and inspire children about Math and Science. Robotics inspires students to make connections across several disciplines rather than learning topics in isolation as it combines mechanical, electronic, electrical and programming skills. Students are motivated to learn by creating their own robotic devices, while at the same time gain a deeper understanding of interdisciplinary fields of study. In addition, robotics appeals to a broad range of students and allows multiple points of access to science and technology for a variety of learners.

Gavel club

New Al Wurood International School has taken a giant leap forward to hone effective communication and leadership skills in its students by conducting power packed Gavel Club sessions. Gavel club is a way of providing the Toastmasters experience to students. Gave Club meetings are designed for students to gain experience in public speaking. The club sparks innate skill of the gaveliers to have high self-esteem and confidence to face the upcoming challenges in life as effective communicators and leaders.

B.E.S.T Model United Nations

B.E.S.T Model United Nations is a mega annual academic competition where schools across Saudi Arabia enrich their students' learning of diplomacy, importance of international relations and togetherness. The conference is aimed at improving skills such as planning, researching, reasoning, critical thinking, public speaking, debating, drafting, teamwork and leadership qualities. The conference is an excellent hands-on approach to learning in a global context that aims to educate participants about civics, effective communication, globalization and multilateral diplomacy while developing a global perspective on real issues confronting the world community today.

Outbound Trip

As a part of experiential learning, students are taken out of their fixed ambit to the real world to enrich their experience through outbound programs wherein they get constant opportunities to expand their own individual tacit knowledge crucial to higher level learning and problem solving skills. Keeping pace with innovative changes in education, outbound trips offer excellent leadership skills and exciting activities like trekking, hiking, valley crossing, rock climbing, boating and camping etc.

Field Trip

Field trip is one of the best tools to provide every student with real-world experiences. As our communities are rich learning laboratories, field trips help the students to take learning into their own hands and learn more. When students leave the classroom for a field trip, they see the connections between what is happening at school and in the 'real-world'. Our school offers 1 field trip in an academic year.

Math Lab

Math Lab offers Multiple Teaching and Learning Aids comprising Technology Applications, Videos, Manipulative and Measuring Instruments. It is based on three pillars of learning : Imagination, Investigation, and Interaction. It enables the students to learn and explore mathematical concepts and verify mathematical facts and theorems using technology tools. It also allows the students to think, discuss among themselves and assimilate concepts. Thus, building interest and confidence in students learning the subject.

Message from the Principal

Warm Greetings to the entire New Al Wurood family!

We are at the threshold of yet another brand new academic year with a great deal of positivity and success. The challenges of the time make it even more important than ever that we look to the future with great zeal and hope. While strictly following the guidance issued by the MoE, KSA, we remain confident that the qualities that make New Al Wurood so special, place us in an exclusive position to continue the mission of rearing true global citizens regardless of what the future holds.

The bygone academic year might have looked different with online learning. Yet what remained the same was our commitment to serving our students, families, and community with care, commitment and precision. We competently adapted our teaching and learning methods to address the conditions of the pandemic. Our hearts, vision and mission remained the same and we spared no means to keep our students thriving. We effectually carried out all the curricular and co-curricular programmes reserved in the academic calendar. Apart from the earmarked programmes such as, Student Council Election, Investiture Ceremony, MUN, Model Youth Parliament, Gavel Club, Expos, UQA, Islamic Quiz, B.E.S.T Quiz etc, we could introduce sensational programmes like Home Economics, E-library and Virtual Clubs along with series of educational webinars. We were successful in reaching out to our students and making their learning a life-changing experience, not a mechanical transaction.

As we venture forward to optimize experiences of our students in the academic year 2021-2022, we ensure comprehensive and empirically-based educational programs ranked one among the best in the Kingdom. We keep expanding and enriching virtual training platforms for building, hosting and delivering 21st century skills for our students by featuring trailblazing technology and experienced practitioners. New Al Wurood is a place of learning, belonging, growth, and support. I congratulate the leaders, staff and parents for collaborating and communicating creatively.

Thank you for being aligned with the vision of the school.

Lets stand together to welcome the new academic year.

NAWIS KIndergarten

Kindergarten, which literally means a garden for children, is an exciting time full of learning and fun!

Optimizing the early years of children’s lives is the best investment we can make as a society in safeguarding their future success. The first six years’ experience brings in the most rapid changes of life and are truly critical in a child's development. This age is particularly noted for a child’s physical, intellectual, emotional and social growth. Also, the earliest years of a child’s life are the key factors in foreseeingthe ultimate success in their school and personal life. Kindergarten is a time for children to expand their love of learning, their general knowledge, their ability to get along with others and their interest in reaching out to the world. Our education program is set to meet all such standards by providing a nurturing environment. Our learning atmosphere promises to be the one filled with discovery and joy as children work & play in an environment that is warm, safe and challenging. While Kindergarten marks an important transition, it is important that children still get to be children.

CURRICULUM & TEACHING METHODOLOGY:

Our school follows the CBSE curriculum with Experiential Learning Methods, proposed by XSEEDTeaching Methodology which is designed to raise the level of learning in classrooms and build confidence in children. It follows the 5-Step Experiential learning method where concepts are taught through hands-on experiments. Teachers in kindergarten classrooms use several teaching methods to ensure that each child is learning what he/she needs to know. Teaching methods are planned to help children remain challenged, incorporating a wide range of instructional strategies.

The range of academic abilities can vary so much from children to children, in order to meet that, kindergarten teachers use differentiated instruction. This method requires teachers to know how each child learns most effectively and modify instruction and classroom assignments to meet those needs. The use of different learning tools, such as books, audio-visual aids and hands-on materials, is part of the differentiated teaching method. In other words, differentiated instruction provides children with several avenues to learn the same material, which increases the chance that each child will be successful.

READING PROGRAMME:

Our Reading Programme is designed in such a way that children learn to communicate, from learning the sounds that constitute words, to figure out what the words mean and to determine how to combine them into syntactic strings that have meaning. Their learning is through the Primary Phonics way which is a fun and child centered approach to teaching literacy through synthetic phonics. Kindergarten maintains a classroom atmosphere of warmth and acceptance and it is one of the few places where children’s opinions and ideas are heard and valued. Engaging them in a lot of fun and exciting activities, designed to promote &improve their growth and development, the structure of the day is carefully scheduled to encourage independence, self- confidence and group cooperation through large group, small group and one to one participation in a variety of hands-on, interactive experiences. The kindergarten method of teaching prepares children for more formal learning that takes place in higher gradesin school.

Al Wurood International School promises to provide a secure and natural learning environment to children, to learn and bloom into responsible, disciplined and balanced human beings. Here at Kindergarten,

“Learning is real and the application of skills are more concrete”.
